[this is good] The PDF is of the highest possible quality; it is the one that the printer used to manufacture the actual books!


[this is good] I totally agree. I have the paper version of Higher Order Perl and it's terrific. And with the PDF version being available for free, there's no reason everyone shouldn't check it out.
