Just saw that the latest Perl appears to be gold. The last few release candidates ran my current projects cleanly (you did test your projects and cpan modules right ;) ) and am happy to report the same for this release. Great job to everyone involved and hope to offer my recognition in person when I'm at YAPC:NA this coming summer.
Although I know a lot of the cool stuff in Perl happens around a pile of awesome projects such as Plack, Catalyst, DBIC and Moose (just to name my personal cool list, no slight intended to other important ones), it is undeniably powerful PR when these major point versions are released. So go out there and spread the news! And if you think utf8 improvements, better smart operators and the start of better pluggable keywords isn't worth crowing over (just to name the improvements that effect me most personally), remember the Rails crowd acts like they put a man on the moon every time they release a trivial new feature, so don't be shy.
I'm deleting some comments from people that appear to just be selling crap. Also, following my new rule, when spam comments appear I will just close commenting for a particular blog.If anyone has something constructive to offer, feel free to email me or hit me up on IRC and I will report.
